Best I Evah Had - 2010 - Pt. 2

So yeh - here's a few more songs I really dug from this yurr. Enjoy!(?)

4. Drake – Shut It Down (ft. the Dream)

Two of my fave r&b/hip hop crossover dudes on the one jam, I was bound to love this song. It is DEFINITELY very lame in parts but as a female I can’t help but swoon hard. Drake has a p unique delivery which can be found all throughout Thank Me Later wherein he says a line that’s really heartfelt or clever and follows it up with something that makes absolutely no sense/ruins the moment. An example from this song: ‘I feel like when she moves, the time doesn’t.’ followed by ‘You finer than yo fine cousin, and yo cousin fine but she ain’t got my heart beating double time.’ Really, the only way to seduce a woman is to tell her how hot her cousin is.
Anyways, this song is great and goes for almost 7 minutes, which I feel is an appropriate amount of time to dedicate to a Drake/Dream collaboration.

5. Gold Panda - Snow & Taxis

This song is just really fucking pretty, is all :3

6. Stornaway - Zorbing

I think this band is British, or maybe Scottish. But either way, DAMN there's a lot of amazing folk music coming from that part of the world recently. My best bro Corey assures me that this band is The Best Band but I must say, I'm sceptical. Nevertheless, this song is really well done, and catchy as hell, despite the fact that I have pretty much no idea what the dude is wailing about for most of it. The video is kind of awful but I've developed a slight crush on the lad with the pork pie hat on.

7. Caribou - Jamelia

Was gonna go with Odessa originally (chicken steak, chicken steak, chicken steak), but that seemed way too obvious. Caribou verrrry nearly made it onto my albums list, this album rools. Anywho, Jamelia has the guy from Born Ruffians in it, who put out an incredibly dissapointing and shit album themselves this year, but that's besides the point. This guy's voice (too lazy to Google his actual name) is p amazing in a yelpy kinda way. And it totes works here, especially in the climactic part in the middle - I CAN'T TAKE IT NO MORE! The video I linked above is actually really good too, despite it not being official. That hardly ever happens! Song also wins bonus points for reminding me of this POP GEM:

'i don't know what it is; that makes me feel like this'
